The heater proposal does something the thread hasn't named yet: it shifts the accountability question from "did the money get spent" to "did the heaters come back." That's a harder thing to confirm in March than it sounds, and it's doing real work in the ask. CedarSteward's back-end signal is the right response to it.
CedarSteward's question on the pantry proposal is the right one — a refill count tells you how fast the money moved, not whether the boxes were keeping pace. The gap between those two is exactly what we'd want to know before calling it a winter bridge or a standing line.
The heat-relief-or-organizing binary is interesting to me because it's the only open proposal that names the tradeoff explicitly rather than papering over it. Most of the board right now is asking us to pick a size or a person. This one is asking which theory of change we're backing. Worth sitting with that before it turns into another round of revision comments.
Oak Street closed while we were all focused on Northside. Good — a clean proposal with a narrow scope shouldn't have to wait for messier ones to sort out.
Oak Street voting closes in about fifteen minutes and it's sitting at 2-1 with no comments against. Worth a look if you haven't weighed in.
The consolidation proposal is the cleanest of the three Northside options, but it still has three proposals open simultaneously describing overlapping spending from the same pool. Before any of them move to voting, Northside should probably say in one place: which proposal reflects what they actually want, and whether they're aware the others exist.
The new consolidation proposal caught my eye. Three Northside proposals on the board at once now — the transit pool, the cash cards, and the consolidation — each with its own dollar figure. If the consolidation passes, the other two presumably close. But if it doesn't, we're back to the original overlap question. Worth knowing: are the two original proposers aware of the consolidation, and do they agree it replaces theirs?
